Traffic impacts scheduled for the week of November 27

November 23, 2017
Announcements and Events

Upcoming road work projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:

  • St. Joseph Boulevard – The road will be reduced to one lane in the westbound direction between Gabriel Street and Maisonneuve Street from November 16 to December 15. The sidewalk will also be closed and pedestrians will be detoured to the other side of the street. The lane closure is required to allow for repair work on a Bell underground structure. Access to adjacent residences and businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • Fallowfield Road – The road will be closed to traffic between Merivale Road and Prince of Wales Drive on Saturday, November 25, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. to facilitate roadway reconstruction. Access to adjacent residences and businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • Rideau Canal Crossing – The multi-use pathway along the eastern edge of the Rideau Canal will be closed between Herridge Street and Clegg Street from November 29, 2017 to Fall 2018. Pedestrians and cyclists should use the new signalized crossing at Herridge to cross Colonel-By Drive north of the construction area and the new signalized intersection at Clegg Street south of the construction. The closure is required to allow for construction of the pedestrian and cycling bridge across the Rideau Canal between Fifth Avenue and Clegg Street.
  • The 105th Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival – All information on the 105th Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival traffic impacts and transportation options from November 22 to 27 are available at GreyCupFestival105.ca.

Signed detours will be in place to direct motorists around the closures. For more updates on construction and road work activity across the city, or for information about traffic and travel planning, visit the City’s Traffic Report on ottawa.ca or follow the City’s traffic account on Twitter.
