Join Mayor Jim Watson on Saturday, October 26 in the Heritage Building and Ottawa City Hall from 5 to 8 pm, for the annual Trick or Treat with the Mayor event in support of the Ottawa Food Bank’s Baby Basics Program.
With the support of corporate sponsors, Trick or Treat with the Mayor provides safe Halloween fun for everyone and is a wonderful opportunity for local families to help others. Admission to the event is a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank’s Baby Basics Program. This program helps parents in need by providing items in high demand, such as non-perishable baby food, formula, cereal, diapers and wipes. Chronic shortages of donations of these basic items make stocking baby supplies one of the food bank’s most expensive, but most precious priorities.
Come trick or treat with the Mayor and your favourite costumed characters in the Haunted Heritage Building! Then head outside to the courtyard to see what is brewing in Maleficent Witches’ Den, before making your way to the Pumpkin Patch to decorate your very own miniature pumpkin!
The excitement continues inside City Hall, where you can enjoy hot chocolate, assorted juices and cookies in the Creepy Swamp Café in Jean Pigott Place or make your way to Andrew Haydon Hall’s Spooktacular Theatre to watch classic Halloween movies and snack on some tasty popcorn!
Please note: This is not a nut-free event. Dress warmly as the courtyard activities and line to enter the Haunted Heritage Building will be outdoors. For more information, visit the Trick or Treat with the Mayor page on the City’s website.
