The second annual Mayor for a Day contest officially launches today. Do you think you have what it takes to work alongside Mayor Jim Watson?

Mayor Jim Watson and the Chain of Office

It’s not an easy job, but it will be a fun day that you’ll never forget, filled with community events, meetings and media interviews. In fact, reporters will definitely want to speak to you, so we hope you aren’t camera shy!

So how do you get to be Mayor for a Day?

If you’re a student in grades 9 to 12, tell us what you love most about Ottawa. We also need you to send in your two best ideas for making the city even better! You can either submit a written essay or send us a video.

We’ll choose two students to follow Mayor Watson for an entire day this spring. Imagine being able to brag to your friends that you got to be Mayor for a Day!
