Parking ticket options
Parking enforcement during COVID-19
Regular parking enforcement operations have resumed. For further details, please visit our webpage on parking regulations & restrictions.
Option 1 - Pay the fine
Accepted: Visa, MasterCard
Not accepted: American Express, Visa-Debit and Mastercard-Debit cards, Pre-paid or reloadable cards or gift cards
In order to protect the identity of our clients and safeguard the City of Ottawa assets, a $1.50 service charge applies to each ticket payment in addition to any other service charge applied by your financial institution.

For parking ticket payments, please call the automated payment system at 613-738-7719, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For all other court-related inquiries, please call 3-1-1 and dial option 3 to speak to a City of Ottawa agent.
In-Person
We strongly recommend you schedule an appointment with us, but walk-ins will be accepted between 8:30am – 12pm and 1pm - 4pm.

- Cheques or money orders are only payable to the City of Ottawa

- Please note that we do not accept responsibility for late delivery of mail. Payment is credited only when it is received at our office, not the postmark date.
Option 2 - Review a parking ticket
- Submit an online parking ticket review request application
- Applications will be reviewed and responded to within 5 business days by email
- This option is for parking tickets only
- Matters are reviewed on a case by case basis
- Tickets could potentially be upheld, cancelled or fine varied
- If you request a review, do not pay your parking violation until a decision has been made by a Screening Officer because it will void your review and consider your case closed.
- If you are unsatisfied with the outcome of your review, you may proceed to Option 3 - Requesting a trial date
Option 3 - Requesting a trial date
- If you would like to request a trial date, complete the Notice of Intention to Appear (NIA) form.
Trial Request Updates: If your request for trial is approved, you will receive a trial date in the mail. To find out the status of your case, please visit the Provincial Court Look-up Tool.
Provincial Offence Violations (Other Tickets)
Other tickets include but are not limited to driving offences, By-law tickets, summons, red light cameras, etc. For more information about POA tickets, please view the “Where to find your ticket or infraction number” section on this page.
Option 1 - Pay the fine
- VISA, MasterCard and American Express are accepted.
- Prepaid or reloadable credit cards or gift cards cannot be used.
- In order to protect the identity of our clients and safeguard the City of Ottawa’s assets, a service charge applies to each ticket payment in addition to any other service charge applied by your financial institution. Fees payable are calculated based on 1.75% of the ticket amount owing to a maximum of $3.00 service charge applies per ticket in addition to any other service charge applied by your financial institution.

Option 2 - Plea of Guilty with Submissions as to Penalty
- This form is used to exercise Option 2 for Provincial Offences Act (POA) tickets to request a phone appointment with a Justice of the Peace to plead guilty and make submissions as to penalty (amount of fine or time to pay).
- The Justice of the Peace does not have jurisdiction to:
- Reduce the charge; e.g., a speeding charge of 20 kilometres over the limit cannot be reduced to 15 kilometres
- Remove or reduce the demerit points to be applied. Demerit points are applied by the Ministry of Transportation upon conviction and the court cannot change the demerit points to be applied
- Submit a Plea of Guilty with Submissions as to Penalty application.
- Applications will be reviewed and responded to within 10 business days.
Option 3 - Requesting a trial date or a meeting with the prosecutor

Other Online Court Services
Extension of Time to Pay
If you require more time to pay your fine you may submit a Motion for Extension of Time to Pay Fine Time To Pay form. Your application will be carefully reviewed by a local Justice of the Peace before it is granted or denied.
This process can take up to 15 business days. You may verify the status of your Extension application by using the City of Ottawa’s Look-Up Tool.

Reopening A Matter
If you would like to reopen a matter for which you have been convicted, you may submit a Request for Reopening in-person by booking an appointment for one of our centres: 110 Laurier Avenue City Hall, 100 Constellation Drive Mary Pitt Centre or 255 Centrum Boulevard Orleans Service Centre . Your application will be carefully reviewed by a local Justice of Peace before it is granted or denied.

Disclosure
Disclosure refers to a "disclosure package" which is provided by the Prosecution Office to the accused person or their agent/lawyer. The package usually includes the charge, officers notes, witness statements, and other information gathered by the enforcement agency during their investigation such as pictures, recordings and other things.
If you have a trial and/or first attendance meeting scheduled, you can make a request for disclosure by submitting the online disclosure request.

Court appearance information for remote hearings
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ottawa Provincial Offences Court is holding some proceedings via videoconference (virtually) by Zoom. Do not attend court in person.
Where to find your ticket or infraction number?
You can locate your infraction number on the front of the charging document. The infraction number - located at or near the top-right corner - will consist of alpha-numeric numbers and may begin or end with a letter. The charging document will also contain information regarding the infraction type, date and location.
