Part of the expansion and upgrade of the Manor Park Field House in the mid-1980s included the installation of coloured glass collages in the north and south windows by local artist Janice Moorhead. The images in each window are composed of four different panels. Each panel is itself a compilation of layers of geometric glass shapes like triangles and squares, creating a quilt-like effect. The northern window, Midnight, evokes the quality of light at that hour with its semi-antique deep blue hue. The southern window, Neighbourhood, captures the afternoon light. Both images were a response to the colours and shapes noted by Moorhead within the surrounding neighbourhood of Manor Park. Originally a painter, Moorhead had begun experimenting with glass, playing with its qualities and creating collages with found objects within her transparent works. She noted that the effect of layered glass allows for a clearer image than the solder lines found in traditional stained glass images. It emphasizes the effect of the edges of the glass, and allows for colour changes resulting from the overlaying of one colour of glass over another.
