Description

Wonder is the Beginning of Wisdom was created for the Gloucester Public Library (now the Orleans Branch) and represents the human desire to seek knowledge. Born in Montréal, Tim desClouds has a B.F.A. from York University and a B.Ed. from Queens University. In addition to his busy career as a sculptor and painter, desClouds was a visual arts instructor at Canterbury High School and a former board member for both the Ottawa Art Gallery and SAW Gallery. DesClouds has created site-specific artwork commissioned by the City of Ottawa for the Aberdeen Pavilion, Garry J. Armstrong Long Term Care Centre, Bank Street, Greely Village Park, and McNabb Park. He has exhibited in Ottawa, Stratford, and Toronto. His work can be found in the collections of the Canada Council Art Bank, the City of Ottawa and the City of Gatineau as well as numerous private collections.
