Description

Welcoming gateways stand at the east and west entrances of the Village of Richmond on Perth Street. Each gateway was hand-carved by local artist Marcus Kucey Jones. The carvings depict leaves from 18 tree species in tribute to the trees planted by the original settlers of Richmond and as a salute to the area’s rich logging history. The name Richmond is carved and painted in a prominent position on each piece, making the artworks highly visible welcome signs to the village.
