Project description
As part of this project, the City of Ottawa will renew the following infrastructure:
- Replace watermains, replace sanitary sewers, reconstruct the roads and add traffic calming features on Melbourne Avenue (Greenwood Avenue to Ravenhill Avenue), Ravenhill Avenue (Melbourne Avenue to Churchill Avenue) and Greenwood Avenue (Melbourne Avenue to Edison Avenue).
- Replace storm sewers on Melbourne Avenue (Greenwood Avenue to Ravenhill Avenue).
- If feasible, add a new sidewalk on the west side of Melbourne Avenue (Greenwood Avenue to Ravenhill Avenue) and on one side of Greenwood Avenue (Melbourne Avenue to Edison Avenue, with a possible sidewalk extension to Churchill Avenue).
Project timing
Design: summer 2024 to fall 2025
Construction start: expected to start in spring 2026, pending approvals including budget and overall construction coordination
Construction completion: fall 2027
Project budget
Approved project funds to date are $1,770,000.
Public engagement
A public information session will be held in spring 2025.
