Carnavalesque

Mobile and static elements of tubing and mirrors are placed throughout the station. Each becomes a playful aspect of the architectural structure, embracing and reflecting light and sky. Some elements move with the wind while others remain motionless.

The station configuration has been described as that of a boat. In fact, the artist saw the station as an embattled ship in need of radar equipment. The artwork was thus inspired by this idea of rotating radar. The final artwork, with its radar-like rear-view mirrors, resembles devices used for collecting and communicating information.
