The rural fair has changed a lot since the 1800’s. What started as a way to promote agriculture and the rural lifestyle, has evolved over time. Many fairs today still have an agricultural component, but they’re so much more. Whether you want to partake in some mouth-watering food, enjoy the many thrilling rides, listen to top-notch concerts, or watch the excitement of a tractor pull or demolition derby, Ottawa’s rural fairs have something for everyone.
