Montreal Road to close overnight at Highway 174 on August 30 and 31

The section of Montreal Road under Highway 174 will be closed in both directions from 7 pm Wednesday, August 30 until 5:30 am Thursday, August 31. Most on and off-ramps at Montreal Road and Highway 174 will also be closed, with the exception of the eastbound Montreal Road on-ramp to Highway 174 westbound. Motorists should follow the signed detour routes:

Eastbound detour

  • Turn right on Ogilvie Road
  • Turn left on Blair Road
  • Turn left on Innes Road
  • Turn left on Bearbrook Road
  • Turn right on St. Joseph Boulevard

Westbound detour (follow the reverse direction)

  • Turn left on Bearbrook Road
  • Turn right on Innes Road
  • Turn right on Blair Road
  • Turn right on Ogilvie Road
  • Turn left on Montreal Road

The closure is required as part of the Stage 2 East extension to carry out necessary work to the roadway and associated infrastructure.

OC Transpo buses will need to be detoured during the closure. For detour information, please visit octranspo.com.

Pedestrian access on the east side of Montreal Road will remain open through the closure. Cyclists should follow signage on site, asking cyclists to dismount and walk the pedestrian detour for the length of the closure before rejoining Montreal Road on the other side of the closure.
