Important information for volunteers

Welcome to the City of Ottawa’s mandatory accessibility training for volunteers.

If you become a volunteer, you will be required to complete the following two Accessibility training courses:

• Accessible Customer Service training
• Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) training for volunteers

Important: Please notify your Coordinator of Volunteers by email upon completion.

For some City of Ottawa volunteer opportunities you will need a Police records check. This information will be included in the volunteer position description when you look at our current volunteer opportunities.

If you are offered a volunteer position, your supervisor will give you a signed letter to submit with your Police records check application.

You can also browse the Ottawa Police Services website for important information about Police records checks for youth aged 12 to 17.

Volunteers that are minors (less than 18 years of age), please have your parent/legal guardian sign the Youth volunteer parental consent form and submit with your application.
