Canada Council Art Bank

Did you know? The Canada Council Art Bank makes contemporary art available to a wide public across the country through art rental, exhibitions and outreach activities. With more than 17,000 artworks by over 3,000 artists, the Art Bank is home to the largest collection of contemporary Canadian art in the world. It houses paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and prints by emerging and established artists, including a significant number of artworks by Indigenous artists.

On June 3, from 10 am to 4 pm, the Art Bank is thrilled to participate in Doors Open Ottawa. It will be a wonderful opportunity to see the Art Bank collection and storage facility in person, which is usually accessible by appointment only. Join us to discover a thematic display in celebration of the Art Bank’s 50th anniversary, organized by guest curator Jessica Endress who will be present on site; learn about behind-the-scenes stories and the collection through the Art Bank team’s selections; and explore the collection vault at your own pace or ask our experts about anything, from artworks to art handling.

For more information about our participation to Doors Open Ottawa, we invite you to read our blog. We invite art enthusiasts to explore the collection at www.artbank.ca, to read more about our programs and activities on our blog and to follow us on Instagram (@artbank_banquedart) and Facebook (@CCartbank).
