Project description
The City of Ottawa plans to implement a new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Navan Road and Milton Road. The design will incorporate pedestrian crossovers (PXOs), a multi-use pathway, streetlighting upgrade, stormwater/drainage infrastructure upgrade, landscaping, grading, and any required utility adjustments. The preliminary design is under review and changes may be made based on community feedback.
Project limits
The limits of the project are:
- Intersection of Navan Road and Milton Road.
- Approximately 140 meters east along Navan Road at intersection with Milton Road.
- Approximately 140 meters west along Navan Road at intersection with Milton Road.
- Approximately 90 meters south along Milton Road at intersection with Navan Road (intersection approaches and departures at Milton Road between Navan Road and Canary Street).
Project timing
Design: underway with completion by April 2025
Construction start: contingent on the approval of funding, construction is expected to start summer 2025
Construction completion: fall 2025
Project budget
Approved project funds to date are $335,000.
Public engagement
The City of Ottawa remains committed to keeping the residents informed throughout the design and construction stages of the project. An initial public open house where residents are able to review and provide feedback on the preliminary design is scheduled to occur on November 27, 2024, and the City will facilitate another public open house in the spring.

The City of Ottawa invites you to attend a public information session to discuss the proposed infrastructure improvement project in your neighbourhood. Preliminary design drawings will be on display for your review and staff will be present to answer any questions and receive comments. There will not be a formal presentation at this open house. Please attend at your leisure.
The following provides additional information about the project:
What: The project involves the implementation of a single lane roundabout at the intersection of Navan Road and Milton Road. The design will incorporate pedestrian crossovers (PXOs), a multi-use pathway, streetlighting upgrade, stormwater/drainage infrastructure upgrade, landscaping, grading, and utility adjustments.
Why: The primary objective of this project is to improve the operations and safety for all road users at or near the intersection.
When: Contingent on the approval of funding in 2025, construction is expected to start in summer 2025 and be completed by fall 2025.
Where: Navan Road and Milton Road intersection.
Who: The engineering firm, Novatech, has been retained by the City of Ottawa to develop design drawings for this project.
