Please call 3-1-1 if the pothole issue is related to the following:

  • Construction activity (square or rectangular cut in road)
  • An immediate hazard to people or property
  • Personal accessibility
  • A traffic-related issue (such as traffic signals or traffic signs)
  • Debris or potholes on Regional Road 174 between Blair and Trim

Report a pothole on the road

It’s normal for water to pool around a catch basin in wet weather. Roads are designed to drain based on the sewer capacity. Please call 3-1-1 if the catch basin issue is related to a missing catch basin (drain cover).

You may create a service request to advise the City of a catch basin (drain cover) that is:

  • Blocked (causing flooding on the road)
  • Sunken or raised
  • Broken

Report issues with catch basins on the road

You may create a service request to notify the City of a dead animal on a public road or sidewalk. Dead animals on private or non-municipal property are the responsibility of the property owner.

The City of Ottawa is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the street lighting system within City boundaries. City staff administer the program and maintain the system through the services of several lighting maintenance contractors.

In order to expedite repairs and reduce confusion, please provide a municipal address that references the street light or sign’s location.

Please call 3-1-1 if the streetlight issue is related to the following:

  • Traffic signals or traffic signs.
  • Hand hole cover open or missing exposing wires
  • Knocked down streetlight
  • Damaged light such as broken glass, hanging arm, Construction activity (square or rectangular cut in road)
  • Missing or loose manhole cover

You may create a service request to notify the City of debris or litter on roads or sidewalks. Debris does not include leaves. Public Works does not sweep/pick up leaves from local/residential roadways. To report debris on Regional Road 174 between Blair and Trim, please call 3-1-1.
