These window shutters were made using bevelled glass and mouth-blown glass to give the effect of deteriorating shutters. The treatment of the glass references various stages of repair. The artist believes that glass presents a paradox for its apparent fragility and enduring strength. The design, which is carried through the hall and stairs, offers points of connection between the art and the architecture.
