Proposed Road Modifications

Pursuant to By-law No. 2011–122, the City of Ottawa is providing notice to the public of its intention to approve road modifications at the following locations in accordance with the authority under By-law No. 2011-28:

In December 2019, Council approved the principles of a Safe Systems approach to road safety in road design and that when reconstruction occurs on local residential streets, these roads be designed for a 30 km/h operating speed. The proposed designs for the roads listed below were then updated accordingly with additional traffic calming measures.

Claymor Avenue, Senio Avenue, Falaise Road

  • A raised pedestrian crossing at the north end of Claymor Ave, south of Meadowlands Dr.
  • A raised intersection at Claymor Ave and Normandy Cres.
  • A raised intersection at Claymor Ave and Falaise Rd.
  • A raised intersection at Falaise Rd. and Senio Ave.
  • Up to two speed humps on Senio Ave.
  • The raised crossing, three raised intersections and two speed humps will each involve the localized asphalt road surface being 75 mm higher than the surrounding road surface. The objective of these traffic calming features is to improve road safety for all road users.
