Brief traffic delays for motorcycle ride

Parking, roads, traffic and transit

A motorcycle rally is scheduled to do a brief motorcycle tour to salute the National War Memorial around the noon-hour on Saturday, August 5. The Ottawa Police Service will monitor public safety and will be present to ensure the safe passage of motorcycles through the downtown core.

The motorcycle ride will travel eastbound on Highway 417 and will briefly impact traffic in the area of Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue before departing the city via Highway 417.

Ticketing and towing

The City of Ottawa By-law and Regulatory Services (BLRS) will have Officers out on the streets ensuring all parking regulations are observed by residents and visitors. All vehicles found in violation of parking restrictions will be ticketed and/or towed.

Traffic updates

Temporary traffic delays may occur. Residents can continue to check our online traffic map and the City of Ottawa’s traffic Twitter account for up-to-date information.

OC Transpo updates

OC Transpo will maintain regular service during the demonstration. Should extended road closures occur, OC Transpo and Para Transpo service will be maintained with detours, as required, and there may be some delays.
