Starting Tuesday, July 2 after the morning peak period, Bank Street, from south of Shuttleworth Drive to south of Miikana/Blais Road, will be closed to traffic until Friday, December 20.

In advance of the closure, traffic calming measures will be implemented at specific locations on Findlay Creek Drive, Kelly Farm Drive, Miikana Road and Dun Skipper Drive.

During the closure, signage will be in place to notify residents of the impacted area and detour commuters west via Albion Road or east via Hawthorne Road. Detours will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Access to Findlay Creek businesses

Findlay Creek businesses remain open and accessible during the closure of Bank Street.

Residents are encouraged to shop locally and support the Findlay Creek Bank Street and area businesses during this construction period.

Project information

The closure is part of work to facilitate the Bank Street widening and reconstruction project, a multi-year project that will see the two-kilometre stretch of Bank Street, from south of Leitrim Road to south of Blais Road, widened from two lanes to four.

The full closure of Bank Street in this location is required for major infrastructure construction work including the replacement of the existing local sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and watermain.

The project will also include approximately four kilometres of sidewalks, cycle tracks and grass boulevards, as well as a raised median and modifications to signalized intersections that will have protected intersection features.
