Late penalty charges

Protect yourself, be aware of potential texting scams
Increasingly, people receive text messages from imposters posing as a delivery company, financial institution and even the City of Ottawa. Remember, the City does not send text messages about late payments or outstanding amounts, including property taxes, water bills, and provincial offence tickets – such as parking, speeding and red-light cameras. Protect yourself. If you receive a text message, delete it. Do not click on any links and never provide any personal or financial information.
