A naval gun from the HMCS Carleton at Dows Lake will be fired at approximately 11:45 am on Saturday, May 11 to mark the start of this year’s Tulip Festival. At the same time, a pair of CF18 jets and a Griffon helicopter will also fly overhead.

Residents living around Dows Lake can expect a brief but loud noise associated with the naval salute and flyby.

Residents can also expect to see numerous drones in the air around 9:15 pm on May 19. The drones will emit light and will be used for the Tulip Festival closing ceremonies at Dows Lake.
