Council, committees and City Hall

The City is excited to officially launch the second theme of “Your city, your ideas,” a multi-phase initiative where you can share your ideas on how we can serve you better while finding innovative ways to save money that can be reinvested into other City priorities.

We’ve heard from Ottawa City Council, partners, City staff and now we want to hear from you! This next theme, “A city that is more connected with reliable, safe and accessible mobility options,” will cover topics such as winter operations, transit, transportation planning, road safety, traffic services, accessibility and more.

Do you have ideas on how the city can save money while improving services? Head over to Engage Ottawa to participate. It’s your city, and your ideas!

City of Ottawa Service Reviews

Service reviews are an evaluation of an organization’s services to look for improvements to service delivery, efficiency and effectiveness. We want to harness the incredible wisdom of people like you, who live in and contribute to our beautiful city every day. Our goal is to put any savings that are found from the service reviews towards the Term of Council priorities. These priorities are focused on making our city an even better place to live, learn, work and play.

The themes are the Term of Council priorities, and each one will last up to three months, during which time you will be able to offer ideas and suggestions on that topic. The priorities are focused on creating an Ottawa that:

  • Has affordable housing and is more liveable for all
  • Is more connected with reliable, safe and accessible mobility options
  • Is green and resilient
  • Has a diversified and prosperous economy

We understand that each one of you brings unique perspectives and experiences to the table, and we want to tap into that diverse pool of knowledge. We’re looking for ideas on how we can offer services in a new and innovative way, or how we can reduce costs. Your input will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our city, allowing us to prioritize projects, allocate resources effectively, and create a more sustainable and prosperous Ottawa.
