Project Overview

The City of Ottawa is proposing a new sidewalk on Cobden Road from Elmira Drive to Iris Street. This project has been ranked as a priority pedestrian project in Phase 2 of the 2013 Ottawa Pedestrian Plan.

Cobden Road is a local road that serves a commercial shopping plaza on the east side of the street and residential homes on the west side of the street. The stretch of roadway between Iris Street and Elmira Drive serves both the adjacent land uses as well as users accessing transit services and parks located along Iris Street. The provision of a sidewalk on Cobden Road aligns with the City’s transportation goals and objectives to maximize walkability and create safe pedestrian environments.

The project is currently in the functional design stage. Once the design is finalized, the approved plan will proceed to design and construction.
