Project overview

Project description

The City of Ottawa is undertaking the preliminary and detailed design for the renewal of Pretoria Avenue in the Glebe due to the age and condition of the existing combined sewer. The existing infrastructure has reached the end of its useful life and requires replacement. The project limits on Pretoria Avenue will extend from Bank Street to Metcalfe Street.

This project will involve the construction of new combined sewers, full roadway with traffic calming, sidewalk, improved cycling infrastructure, and landscaping reinstatement within the City's right of way. Replacement of the City owned portion of sanitary/storm services to the property line will also be completed during the construction.

If your house/building was built prior to 1958, there is a possibility that your private water service may have been constructed using lead pipe (modern pipes are typically copper). For additional information regarding lead water services and the City's Lead Pipe Replacement Program please visit the City's website.
