Types of presentations

In-person and hybrid presentations

Staff will contact you within three to five business days to confirm your information and set up the session.

Depending on the session, the presenter may need a screen/smart board, projector or TV screen.

For hybrid presentations

When the meeting is confirmed, requesters need to set up a virtual meeting through Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom and provide the meeting information to the assigned presenter.

Virtual presentations

Are You Ready? Personal emergency preparedness

Description of session

Do you want to be better prepared for emergencies? There is a lot to consider making sure that you and your family and/or anyone who lives with you remain safe in the event of an emergency. This presentation will cover ways to prepare for any emergency, including:

  • Learning about Ottawa’s hazards and risks
  • Making a personalized emergency plan
  • Building an emergency preparedness kit

Retirement residences

Workplaces

General public, etc.

Note: Scheduled presentations may be cancelled due to an urgent situation or emergency. If that happens, we will reach out to reschedule.

Free (there is no cost for this service or to participate)

30 to 60 minutes

Availability of session

Monday to Friday

Start time: Between 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

Note: sessions are not held on weekends or statutory holidays

Language of session

English only

Handouts provided during the session are available in English and French.

Are You Ready? Community emergency preparedness

Description of session

The community emergency preparedness presentation provides information, guidance and resources to help communities develop a community emergency plan, including:

  • Learning about Ottawa’s hazards and risks
  • Preparing for emergencies in your community
  • Responding and recovering from an emergency as a community

Community associations

High-rise resident associations

Community groups or clubs

Volunteer organizations

School administrators

Board members

Other organizations/groups
