Compliance Summary Report

A Compliance Report provides owners and/or their authorized agents with information regarding a property's status with respect to compliance with development by-laws or agreements and a summary of building permit activity. Compliance Reports are typically requested as a result of a possible sale or refinancing of a building or property.

The Compliance Summary Report provides information regarding issued building permits on file, the status of occupancy permits/final inspections and any outstanding orders/complaints as they relate to the Ontario Building Code, Zoning By-law and/or Property Standards By-law.

Residential – 4 suites (units) or less per building

Residential – more than 4 suites (units) per building

Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Mixed Use – 10 suites (units) or less per building
$258

Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Mixed Use – more than 10 suites (units) per building and/or up to 3 buildings
$705 Plus $214 for each additional building

There are various methods for submitting applications.

Online Submissions

Compliance Reports can now be submitted online using the new Building, Planning and Land Development online application and permitting portal available through My Service Ottawa. The new Land Management System (LMS) is a digital technology providing access to online permits and applications for Building Code Services.

Applying for applications and access to the customer portal requires a My ServiceOttawa (MySO) account set-up and registration with the new Building, Planning and Land Development system.

Several Customer Portal (link is external)user guides(link is external) have been developed to provide information on how to use the new system. Please note that payment must accompany all applications. Additional costs for photocopies may apply.

It is important to specify the existing use, including the number of units and the number of storeys, in order to determine the applicable fee. Survey plans submitted must be legible, dated and signed by an Ontario Land Surveyor.
