The Agile Government Working Group (AGWG) is a new working group that has been launched to reduce red tape and complement the City’s Service Review Program.

This group is comprised of Mayor Sutcliffe and Councillors Brown, Kitts, Hubley, and Plante, and it was created as part of the City of Ottawa’s 2022-2026 Mid-term Governance Review.  The AGWG is looking at opportunities for the City to:

  • enhance service responsiveness and improve the client-experience;
  • streamline processes to save time for staff and residents in terms of accessing City services;
  • leverage innovation and technologies; and
  • adopt best practices in support of improving service delivery.

With oversight from the AGWG, City staff will play a key role in this work as they have the expertise and knowledge to lead the service improvements and enhancements.

The AGWG will review enhancement and improvement ideas and initiatives annually. The 2025 plan includes initiatives focused on the following areas:

  • allowing residents to track Service Ottawa requests and help Councillors’ offices work with ward residents;
  • streamlining the development review process; and
  • enhancing the parks planning process.

Other initiatives are expected to be identified through the inputs received as part of the ongoing engagement process launched as part of the Service Review Program. As part of this process, the public are encouraged to provide their ideas, feedback and suggestions on how we continue to improve services to save time and money.
