Starting in early July, Bank Street, from south of Shuttleworth Drive to south of Miikana/Blais Road, will be closed to traffic until December.

The closure is required to facilitate work on the Bank Street widening and reconstruction project, a multi-year project that will see the two-kilometre stretch of Bank Street, from south of Leitrim Road to south of Blais Road, widened from two lanes to four.

The project will also include approximately four kilometres of sidewalks, cycle tracks and grass boulevards, as well as a raised median and modifications to signalized intersections that will have protected intersection features.

Traffic impacts

Detours will be in place for commuters travelling south or north of the closure. Signage will be in place to notify residents of the impacted area and detour drivers west via Albion Road or east via Hawthorne Avenue. Detours will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Access to Findlay Creek businesses

Findlay Creek businesses remain open and accessible during the closure of Bank Street.

Residents are encouraged to shop locally and support the Findlay Creek Bank Street and area businesses during this construction period.
