Scott Moffatt is currently serving his third term as the Councillor for Rideau-Goulbourn. He lives in North Gower with his wife, Jill, and five kids – Lane, Peyton, Luke, Hayden and Elijah. Scott’s family roots date back 200 years in the area he represents, most notably being a direct descendant of original Richmond surveyor, Joseph Fortune.
As a student, Scott attended St. Leonard Catholic School, Kars Public School, Rideau Valley Middle School and South Carleton High School before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in History with a Minor in Political Science and Law in 2008 from Carleton University. Prior to his election in 2010, Scott gained diverse experience in a variety of sectors including hospitality, retail and high tech with a constant dedication toward customer service.
Outside of his professional life, Scott stays involved with the community volunteering at Kars on the Rideau Public School and with the Osgoode-Rideau Minor Hockey Association. Scott is also a member of the Richmond Legion and the Manotick Kiwanis Club. Contrary to popular belief, Scott does not spend all of his time golfing.
