Report non-compliance regarding the Lobbyist Registry By-law

Anyone wishing to report an incident of non-compliance regarding the conduct of a lobbyist may submit information to the Integrity Commissioner.

Before you begin

  • This form should be used to report information regarding potential non-compliance under the Lobbyist Registry By-law or the Lobbyists' Code of Conduct.
  • Send any questions you may have about the reporting process to lobbyist@ottawa.ca.
  • There is no cost to report an incident of non-compliance.
  • Information provided about a potential incident of non-compliance is confidential but may be used by the Registrar when conducting an investigation.

What you need

The description of the incident of non-compliance, including:

  • The identity of the non-compliant lobbyist
  • The reason you believe they are non-compliant

What’s next

As described in the Complaint Protocol appended to the Lobbyist Registry By-law, the information you provide will be used to determine whether non-compliance under the Lobbyist Registry By-law has occurred.

Upon receipt of this form, the Office of the Lobbyist Registrar will conduct a preliminary review to determine whether the information provided in this form falls under the jurisdiction of the Lobbyist Registrar and whether further action is warranted.

If the Lobbyist Registrar finds that non-compliance has occurred, a variety of actions may be taken to bring the lobbyist into compliance, including commencing an investigation.
