The City of Ottawa is undertaking the design work for a 2km widening of Bank Street from 2 to 4 lanes, including a raised median and modifications to signalized intersections that will have protected intersection features. The project will also include approximately 4km of sidewalks, cycle tracks and grass boulevards and 0.6 km of paved shoulders.
The project limits include:
- Bank Street from south of Leitrim Road to south of Blais Road
Design: currently underway
Design completion: summer 2023
Construction: to be confirmed
Approved project funds to date are $42 million.
A public information session is expected to be held in summer 2022 to present the design drawings to the public. At this time attendees will be able to review the design, ask questions and provide comment on the proposed works. A 2nd public information session will also be held when the design is finalized. Further information regarding the time and location of the public information sessions will be provided on the webpage and communicated with residents beforehand with the mailout of public notices.
