Project overview
Project description
The City of Ottawa has identified the need to rehabilitate the existing Ruisseau Park Ravine stormwater management (SWM) facility due to concerns with current levels of slope stability. The facility is located at 2151 Auburn Ridge Road, in the Chapel Hill community in east Ottawa.
A Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study was completed in 2022 to assess the existing conditions of the entire creek corridor, identify areas of concern, assess various alternative solutions and present a functional design for the preferred alternative to resolve erosion and slope stability problems within the ravine. Details of this Class EA study can be found on the City web page, ottawa.ca/bluewillowpark
The project design has been completed which includes the construction of six weir-pool structures along the channel, the realignment of the creek over a distance of 135 meters, and the filling and regrading of four slopes and the planting of new trees. The project has moved to the construction phase.
