As enforcement of the Property Standards By-law and Property Maintenance By-law is primarily complaint based, an address may have or currently be in contravention of the by-laws despite the search tool listing no violations.

The violations listed can include contraventions of by-laws where a municipal investigation has resulted in enforcement action. This includes the issuance of verbal or written warnings, notices of violation, orders to comply, by-law infraction notice or other enforcement proceeding under the Provincial Offences Act.

Information regarding court proceedings, if any, are not available through this tool.

Note: This tool does not provide information about individual units. If you search for a specific unit number, the results displayed will be for the entire property.

When comparing these results to other properties, you may wish to consider the size of the building. For example: a large apartment building with 200 units may be more likely to show violations than a small building with two units.
