Upcoming major traffic impacts in Ottawa

  • NCC Weekend Bikedays are back! Every weekend from May to October, the NCC opens parkways in Ottawa exclusively for active use, morning and afternoon. Visit the NCC website for more information on the location and hours of Weekend Bikedays in 2022.
  • Colonel By Drive, between Hogs Back Road and Clegg Street, will close on Saturday, May 21 between 7 am and 1:30 pm for the Early Bird Triathlon and Duathlon.
  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway, between Torrington Place and Preston Street, will be closed on the following dates for the Canadian Tulip Festival:
    • Saturday, May 21 from 10 am to 6 pm
    • Sunday, May 22 from 10 am to 11 pm
  • Conroy Road, between Hunt Club Road and north of the Bank Street intersection, will have intermittent overnight and daytime off-peak lane closures on Tuesday, May 24 until mid-July 2022 for road rehabilitation work. Please watch for flagging and signage. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained.
  • Riverside Drive, between Walkley and Brookfield roads, will have intermittent overnight lane closures on Monday, May 23 until the end of June 2022 for road rehabilitation. Please watch for flagging and signage. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained. Transit may experience delays, please check OCTranspo.com for updates.
    Parkdale Avenue, between Emerson Avenue and Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway, will be closed from 7 am on Monday, May 16 to 5 pm on Friday, June 10 for work related to the Energy Services Acquisition Program. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained and detour signage will be in place.
  • Highway 174 – The following Highway 174 ramps and lanes will be closed for Stage 2 LRT roadwork:
    • The eastbound and westbound lanes between Trim Road and Cameron Street will close nightly between 9 pm and 5:30 am from Tuesday, May 24 until Thursday, May 26.
    • The westbound off-ramp to Montreal Road will close nightly between 9 pm and 5:30 am from Friday, May 27 until Monday, May 30.
    • The westbound on-ramp from Montreal Road will close nightly between 9 pm and 5:30 am from Friday, May 27 until Monday, May 30.
  • Westbound Montreal Road (towards downtown) will reduce to one lane nightly between 9 pm and 5:30 am from Friday, May 27 until Monday, May 30.
  • Westbound Place d’Orléans Drive between Champlain Street and Highway 174 eastbound on-ramp Friday, May 27 7 pm to Saturday, May 28 5:30 am.
  • Byron Avenue is closed between Woodland and Harcourt daily from 7 am to 5 pm, until Tuesday, May 31. Byron Avenue is closed between Lockhart Avenue and Sherbourne Road daily from 7 am to 5 pm until Tuesday, May 31.
  • Highway 417 – The following Highway 417 ramps and lanes will be closed for Stage 2 LRT roadwork:
    • The westbound off-ramp to Pinecrest Road is closed until summer 2023.
    • The Ashley Street ramp to the westbound off-ramp to Pinecrest Road is closed until 2025.
    • The westbound on-ramp from northbound Moodie Drive will close nightly between 11 pm and 5 am on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25.
  • Riverside Drive southbound is reduced to one lane from Data Centre Road to Heron Road until June 2022.

Mitch Owens Road, between Ramsayville Road and Farmer’s Way, will have intermittent lane closures during off-peak hours, starting Tuesday, May 24 until mid-July ,for road resurfacing. Please watch for flagging and signs. Local access will be maintained. Pedestrians and cyclists will be accommodated.
