The Nepean Sportsplex is a multi-purpose facility serving residents and visitors to Ottawa for over 40 years. The Nepean Sportsplex hosts 30-plus regional, provincial, national and international sporting events as well as 35 special events per year. Our facility serves over 1.5 million clients annually, who enjoy any of the following amenities: An impressive aquatic centre with a 50 metre Olympic pool with diving towers and springboards, a 25 metre family pool, a children’s wading pool and a therapeutic whirlpool. The centre also features three North American size rinks: The Yzerman and the Allen J. MacDonald arenas, and a 10 sheet curling centre. A 3,000 sq. feet weight room and fitness centre including four squash courts, a studio and gymnasium as well as a large outdoor Sports field area featuring two baseball diamonds, a soccer field, the Minto sports field turf, a lawn bowling turf and pavilion as well as outdoor fitness trails.

With 18 meeting and banquet rooms ranging from 468 to 8,640 sq. ft. and available space of 62,000 sq. ft. for conventions, the Nepean Sportsplex has become known as a top-notch location to hold tradeshows and special events including the annual Christmas craft show.

Our Seniors Centre offers activities for retired adults 50+, while the Visual Arts Centre provides all levels of visual arts programs. General interest programs complete the options available.

The move to Shutdown status across the province will temporarily close City-managed recreation and cultural facilities for most indoor activities, limit the capacity at outdoor recreation amenities and suspend in-person City counter services. Shutdown comes into effect on Saturday, April 3 at 12:01 am.

The following recreation and cultural programs will temporarily suspend operations:

  • All reserved recreation activities – including indoor skating, swimming (public and lane swims), cardio-weight rooms, sports activities – team play and practices, select cultural programs that operated by reservation only, and indoor fitness classes

Nepean sportsplex will offer a Swim for persons with a Disability during the current shutdown, available to residents who meet the following conditions:

  • You are a person with a disability, within the meaning of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
  • You have written instruction for physical therapy from a regulated health professional who is qualified to provide the instruction.
  • If assistance is required in the change room, participants must bring an attendant.

Residents meeting these conditions can reserve their spot for a Swim for persons with a Disability using the reservation link below. Please note you will need to present the note from your health care provider upon check-in.

Details:

  • Select the button below to reserve your spot. Available sessions for the next two days will be displayed in green.
  • Reserve your space as of 6 pm for up to two days in advance.
  • Please show up no more than 15 minutes prior to your reservation.
  • Your spot is reserved up to 10 minutes after the start of the session.
  • You can reserve one session per day.
  • If you are unable to reserve a spot online, you can make a walk-in reservation on the day of, if there are spaces remaining. To avoid disappointment, we strongly encourage you to reserve your space online.
  • Payment can be made on-site.
  • You can book a maximum of: (only include these on relevant pages)
    • 6 spaces at a time for public swims
    • 2 spaces at a time lane swims
    • 4 spaces at a time for public skating.

Helpful info:

Public skating at indoor arenas

  • Payment for public skating is accepted in exact change only.
  • Skate sessions are 50 minutes long.
  • No spectators are permitted except for one parent or guardian.
  • Children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by one parent or guardian – on-ice or as a spectator.

Some changes are coming to our drop-in reservation process!

  • You will soon be able to view session times in the front desk booking system for a week in advance. This will provide you with the most accurate view of available sessions.
  • Sessions will continue to be available for booking 2 days in advance.
  • The full schedules in chart format will no longer be posted on ottawa.ca. If you are looking for a full schedule, please feel free to contact the facility of your choice and request a copy be sent to you via email.
