Installations d’entreposage de la collection des musées de la Ville d’Ottawa

The City of Ottawa Museums care for and manage Ottawa’s evidence of human history beyond the written word. The artefact collections tell the story of the city’s evolution and the people who shaped it – from the earliest settlers to local celebrities.

The collections of Billings Estate National Historic Site, Nepean Museum, Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, Fairfields Heritage House, and the Gloucester collection are comprised of approximately 120,000 material artefacts and 180,000 archaeology specimens. The collection is as diverse as it is large and ranges from farming vehicles and machinery to toothbrushes and silver; from clothing and textiles to photographs and maps; and from dolls and toys to vacuums and telephones. A small percentage of these artefacts are on display in our five museums. The remaining artefacts are stored in one of five storage facilities located across the City of Ottawa.
