Mural application

Before you begin

What you will need prior to submitting a mural application form:

  • Civic address of proposed mural location
  • Detailed design of proposed mural (JPG file-max 3MB)
  • Description of design, including which exterior side of building mural will be installed
  • Proposed start and end date for mural installation
  • Property owner authorization mural form signed by the property owner
  • Proof that the applicant is of 18 years of age or older

Note: if the location is a city of Ottawa building, do not submit the property owner authorization form.

Approximate cost

A mural permit fee is $150. An $50 fee will be charged for each additional mural at the same municipal address. The fee is payable at the Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue.

What’s next

You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application upon submission.

A review of the requirements and initial approvals may take up to 15 business days, during which applicants may be contacted for additional information.

Ward Councillor approval

The proposed location and design will be sent to the ward Councillor for approval.
