Change of ownership

If you purchased property in the City of Ottawa, you must ensure that your property and contact information is up-to-date with City of Ottawa Revenue Services.

Your lawyer must notify the City indicating the new owner’s information. The City is unable to action the title transfer until notification is received from the law firm.

Failure to receive a tax bill will still result in penalty and interest charges being applied if the bill is not paid by the due date.

A $47 change of name fee applies. You will be billed separately from your tax roll.

The City processes changes on a first in, first out basis & makes every attempt possible to have all changes on file processed before any billing period (i.e. Interim, Final & Supplemental Tax billing).
