Motorhome parking

Motorhomes are not permitted to park in any City parking lots.

Free parking for motorhomes is available at the following locations:

  • Rideau Carleton Raceway, 4837 Albion Road
    • Register with the Casino Courtesy desk.
      • Overnight parking is not permitted.
  • Walmart, 3651 Strandherd Drive
    • Overnight parking available.
    • Confirm with the store manager during store hours:
      • Monday to Sunday: 7 am to 11 pm
  • Casino du Lac Leamy, 1 Boulevard du Casino, Gatineau, QC
    • Available from 8:30 am to 4 pm.

Tour bus parking

Tour Bus Parking Permits can be purchased online.

In accordance with the Idling Control (By-law No. 2007-266), tour buses cannot leave their engines running for more than five minutes if stopped or parked anywhere in the city.

Beach tour bus parking

Tour bus parking is permitted using the tour bus parking meters at the following beaches: 

  • Mooney’s Bay, between 7 am and 6 pm at the yellow tour bus meters. 
  • Petrie Island, between 7 am and 6 pm

Free tour bus parking / excursion zones

Free tour bus parking is available at the following locations:

  • LeBreton Flats in front of the main entrance of the War Museum and Vimy Place: 3-hour max
  • Robert Guertin Center, 125 De Carillon Street, Gatineau, QC: Daily from 7 am to 5 pm
  • Commissioner St (East Side) between Albert St & Wellington St
  • Metcalfe St (East Side) between Argyle Ave & McLeod St
  • Carling Ave (South Side) between Preston St & Booth St
  • Fleet St (North Side) between Booth St & Lett St – accessible   only via Wellington St W and Lett St
  • Princess Ave (South Side) between Sussex Ave & Rideau Gate

On-street tour bus parking   

Tour buses can park next to yellow parking meters.

  • Monday to Sunday: $1.50 per 20 min

Payment methods: 25¢, $1 and $2 coins

Tour bus parking at Parliament Hill

  • Tour buses must depart immediately after dropping off and/or picking up passengers on Wellington St.
  • Please note that tour buses cannot stop, park or load passengers on Parliament Hill at any time.
  • Tour Bus will be authorized to travel eastbound between Elgin St & Bank St on Wellington St.

Tour bus parking at Rideau Hall

Tour buses can drop passengers off in the lay-by area next to the main gate on Sussex Drive. Drivers must remain with the buses in this area during the tour.

Tour bus parking at national museums

You must get permission from the museum before parking.

  • Canada Agriculture and Food Museum
    • Paid overnight parking available.
  • Canadian Aviation and Space Museum
    • Paid overnight parking available.
  • Canadian Museum of History
    • No parking available on-site.
    • Free tour bus parking available at:
      • Robert-Guertin Arena, 125 rue de Carillon, Gatineau, QC
  • Canadian Museum of Nature
    • Four spaces available across from the museum on Metcalfe Street.
  • Canadian War Museum
    • Four spaces available by the group entrance along Vimy Pl and along Sir. John A. MacDonald Parkway at Broad St.
  • Diefenbunker Museum
    • Five spaces available inside the Bunker Gates from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
