Gift certificates are available for purchase at City of Ottawa recreation or culture facilities.

  • Gift certificates can be redeemed at recreation facilities or Client Service Centres to register for the program of your choice.
  • You can also request the value of the gift certificate be credited to your account for later use during online registration.

Swing the night away

 Enjoy the sounds of Ottawa’s best Big Bands at Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre (Lakeside Gardens), Britannia Park.

Enjoy the sounds of Ottawa’s best big bands at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, in Britannia Park. No dance experience necessary; singles and couples welcome! Dress is casual, but if you are celebrating a special event, black tie is optional! We have lots of room for dancing plus we are wheel chair accessible.

Doors open at 6:30 pm with the band playing from 7 pm to 10:30 pm.

Reasonably priced alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the Newport Restaurant, cash only please. Keep up your energy for dancing with a light buffet of sandwiches, fruit platters, dessert squares, tea and coffee halfway through the evening.

Skip the work and plan your next birthday party with the City of Ottawa. Our recreation facilities offer a fun, safe and affordable place to party with friends and family. Private rooms, well equipped kitchens, and at some locations, even event coordinators are available. All your birthday parties can be simple and stress free. Party in our pool

Splish! Splash! Under the watchful eye of well trained lifeguards, our indoor swimming and wave pools offer group rates for the perfect spot to host a birthday party. Select pools have rooms to rent to complete the party with your snacks and cake. Contact your neighbourhood pool for more information.

Party on the ice

Slip on your skates for a private rental or join a public skating session! After enjoying your ice activity, rent a room at select arenas to serve your hot chocolate and cake. To book ice time contact our City Wide Allocations staff.

Specialized parties

Many recreation facilities offer themed or specialized parties to make your child’s birthday a special one! Qualified staff will customize games, sports and crafts for a perfect celebration! Our Arts Centres offer creative workshops such as multi-media, drama, jazz dance, pottery and even clowning!

Activities at City Hall

A people place for all seasons! Ottawa City Hall is home to the Sens Rink of Dreams, the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame, Karsh-Masson GalleryCity Hall Art Gallery and Barbara Ann Scott Gallery. It is also a venue for many community events and festivals, regular weekly programs, and special events.

Skate project

Join Happiness Habits 613 every Tuesday at 7 am for a 30 minute skating experience around the Rink of Dreams. Connect with other (n)ice humans in the community. No experience necessary. Fresh air guaranteed. (These skates are organized by Happiness Habits 613)

Christmas Craft Show

Find unique one-of-a-kind items at the Christmas Craft Show, featuring over 125 talented artisans, artists and designers and their creations including clothing, jewellery, gourmet food and Christmas decorations.

Trick or Swim or Skate

Trick treat or swim tickets are no longer available. They will be back on sale October 2020.

Be sure to use your 2019 tickets before January 31, 2020. Kids ages three to 15 can redeem their tickets from November 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020 during regularly scheduled public or family swims and skates at City pools and select arenas.

Tickets are not valid for wave swims or specialty skating sessions.
