About the plans
One of the key principles of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) is that “information should be available to the public”. In an effort to engage citizens and demonstrate accountability and transparency, the City proactively provides the public with access to the information that matters most to them. The practice of routine disclosure and active dissemination is a cost-effective and client-friendly way of providing information to the public. The overarching principle is to advance the view that information held by the City of Ottawa should be made available to the public, and any exceptions to this principle should be limited and specific.
The information within the Routine Disclosure and Active Dissemination Plans is organized by City department and their areas of service.
This list is extensive but does not include all records available as business as usual. If the record you are searching for is not listed, begin by contacting the City of Ottawa's Client Service Centre at 3-1-1 to be linked with the City department that has the information. Departmental staff will determine if the request can be responded to as business as usual or if a formal request should be submitted under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
If you have difficulty finding the information you are seeking or are unsure what department the information would belong to, please try searching using key words and the find function (“Ctrl + F” shortcut).
